This sculpture, commissioned for the newly built state-of-the-art Summit Behavioral Healthcare Facility in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a testament to innovative design in therapeutic environments. The piece was selected for its creativity and relevance through a national competition.
Rising out of a cascading landscape, Atlantis features a variety of shimmering shapes. Some of these forms twist and soar towards each other, creating a dynamic interplay of movement and light, while others remain strong and grounded, symbolizing stability and resilience. Together, these elements represent the balance between reaching new heights and staying firmly rooted—themes resonant with the journey of healing and recovery that the healthcare facility aims to facilitate.
This art installation enhances the Summit Behavioral Healthcare Facility's aesthetic appeal and embodies the spirit of hope and progress central to the facility's mission. The sculpture's integration with the surrounding landscape and its visible interactivity provide patients and visitors with a constant source of inspiration and contemplation.
