Wind Kinetic Sculpture

“Let’s Dance” rises 20 feet into the sky, a monumental wind-kinetic sculpture forged in brushed stainless steel, radiating strength, grace, and quiet power. Designed for the City of Hamilton’s iconic corner lot—a gateway entrance into this nationally recognized City of Sculpture—the work comes alive with the slightest breath of wind, swaying, turning, and shimmering as if the city itself has set it in motion. Both commanding and luminous, the sculpture would stand as a bold emblem of arrival, celebrating Hamilton’s identity as a place where art leads, welcomes, and inspires all who enter.

At the bottom are two additional proposal:

Peace Portal, envisions a monumental split peace sign rising from the ground as two powerful forms separated by a narrow opening—a passageway that visitors can walk through. The work reflects both the enduring aspiration for peace and its fragile, precarious nature. By dividing the universal symbol into two halves, the sculpture reminds us that peace is never automatic; it requires intention, awareness, and collective effort. Positioned at a prominent civic site, Peace Portal would invite reflection while standing as a powerful statement about the role communities play in shaping a more peaceful future. As a monumental public artwork, it would also become an iconic landmark for the city—a place where people gather, photograph, and return to, transforming the site into a destination recognized both locally and beyond.

Swirl, is a wind-kinetic sculpture that captures the vibrant energy and constant motion of city life. Formed from sweeping stainless steel curves that respond gracefully to the wind, the sculpture moves in a continuous, fluid dance, echoing the rhythms of people, traffic, ideas, and culture that define an active urban center. Elegant yet dynamic, Swirl would celebrate Hamilton’s vitality and creative spirit, embodying the sense that the city itself is always in motion, alive with possibility.
